Specialty Clinic
The UHC offers 9 areas of specialty services for students (Podiatry and Optometry are the only two specialties available for UNL faculty/staff).
All Specialty Clinics are by appointment only
*Gynecology:
Thursdays
Staffed by a board certified gynecologist. Evaluation and treatment of:
- Endometriosis
- Follow up Abnormal Paps
- Pelvic Pain
- Ovarian Cysts
- HPV
- Irregular/Painful Periods
- Infertility
- Surgery at participating hospitals
*Orthopedics:
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays
(Hours vary during summer. )
Staffed by board certified orthopedists. Evaluation and treatment of:
- Fractures
- Strains and Sprains
- Knee and Shoulder Injuries
- Orthopedic Surgery at participating hospitals
- Surgical Follow-up
- Application of casts/splints
*Neurology:
Wednesdays
Staffed by a board certified neurologist. Evaluation and treatment of:
- Seizures
- Severe Headaches
- Paralysis
- Cerebral Palsy
- Multiple Sclerosis
*Surgery
Thursdays
Staffed by a board certified surgeon. Evaluation and treatment of:
- Hernias
- Breast Lumps
- Abdominal Pain, Pylonidal Cysts
- Rectal Fissures
- Post-op Surgery Care
- Biopsies
- Surgery at participting hospitals
*Ophthalmology
Every other Tuesday
Staffed by a board certified ophthalmologist. Evaluation and treatment of:
- Corneal Abrasion
- Corneal Ulcer
- Eye Infections
- Retinal Problems
- Diabetic Complications
- Vision Disturbances

**Dermatology:
Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. (Days vary in summer)
Staffed three days per week by board certified dermatologists. Evaluation and treatment of:
- Acne
- Atypical rashes
- Skin Cancer
- Warts and Moles
- Cysts
- Skin Infections
- Hair Loss
**Podiatry:
Wednesdays
Staffed by a podiatrist. Evaluation and treatment of:
- Ingrown toenails
- Orthotics
- Heel Spurs
- Foot Pain
- Bunions, Corns, and Callus's Treatment
- Toe-Nail Problems
**Optometry
Thursdays
Staffed every Thursday by a board certified doctor of Optometry. Services include:
- Complete Eye Exams
- Glaucoma Checks
- Prescription for eye glasses
- Contact lenses available on site and ordered

The UHC specialists have their own practices in the Lincoln community and see UNL students on a regular basis at the UHC for reduced rates.
The UHC also provides nursing services for allergy immunizations as well as an immunization and travel clinic.
