Vaccinations to Keep Students Healthy and Prevent Outbreaks

College students have an increased risk for infectious diseases because they live, work and study in close quarters with thousands of others who could expose them to new viruses. The University Health Center is here to help you stay up to date on your vaccinations list while at school so that you can stay healthy and focus on your studies.

Immunizations for Green Card Applicants

Before making an appointment for this service, students must have had a physical with a civil surgeon who will determine what immunizations and blood work are needed for green card application. The health center requires a civil surgeon’s order and any supporting documentation prior to the student’s appointment for testing or immunization. For questions, call 402-472-5000 and follow the prompts for the nurse line.

For more information on the vaccination requirements for green card applicants, visit the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website.

Pre-travel Immunizations

The health center provides immunizations recommended for international travel. Visit our Travel Clinic webpage to learn more.

Nebraska State Immunization Information System (NESIIS)

The NESIISData Exchange is a secure data system designed to consolidate patient immunization records into one complete record.

Patients who receive an immunization at the health center will be asked if they want their immunization record shared. This will be documented in the patient’s health record, which will determine if immunizations are viewable in NESIIS.

View the NESIIS informational handout to learn more.
